Finished Bean Bags!

A special Thanks must go out to Kathy Otis and her wonderfully talented Daughter Margaret for putting the final touches on our beanbags for the Liberia Orphan Education Project.  Here are a few photos of a couple of the finished sets.  Thanks to everyone who helped!

Collecting Quilt Squares and Making a Quilt!

Hi Sisters!

Just a quick message to let you know we are collecting 12x12 squares to assemble quilts that will be donated to LDS Humanitarian Services.

Cut your fabric (can be scrap fabric!) and bring it to church any Sunday before our R.S. night July 7th.  If you don't have supplies, a rotary cutter to trim your fabric will be available the night of the activity.

These quilts come together beautifully.  The beauty of them is that they come from all our houses and are so bright and cheery.   These quilts can be made for crib size, single size or double size, so whoever receives them will be so excited.

I look forward to our next Relief Society Night and visiting with all of you!!

Craft hope's project 6 :: foster care teens

Hi Ladies!  I just wanted to let you all know of this great site that's helping kids all over the world!  If you have the need to be crafty and are looking for something crafty to get your hands on right now, why don't you try this!

Craft Hope has partnered with The Orphan Foundation of America’s Red Scarf Project. The Orphan Foundation serves thousands of foster teens throughout the U.S. They provide college scholarships, connect them with mentors and internships, send them care packages, and testify for them before Congress. Each year 25,000 students ‘age out’ of the foster care system and the Orphan Foundation is committed to helping them become tomorrow’s successful citizens. They launched the Red Scarf program in 2005 to send red scarves to warm the hearts (and necks) of college bound youth. They began taking these donations to include in their Valentines Day care packages.

Click the link above to get more detailed information.  There is a free pattern on their website, along with details on the size of scarf and address to mail your to.

I am not a knitter or nor do I crochet, so I will be using my Nifty Knitter!
